“It was clear to me that Nigel has something very special to tell the world about music. He shares his insights freely with the artists who work with him and who themselves contribute to the great achievements of the NEO. It seemed a natural idea to ask him to share some of those insights in a radio programme, and to illustrate them with music recorded by the Orchestra itself. The result was a series of three programmes made originally for Premier Radio, London’s Christian radio station.They contained a unique and challenging mixture of Christian reflection and beautiful music performed to the highest professional standards, something well known to regular NEO followers. The programmes received an award for best music based programme from the Christian Broadcasting Council. Now these programmes have been further edited into two CDs to form this audio book. They document the history of the Orchestra’s formation, give a taste of how God is at work in music, and I’m sure will provide much listening pleasure.”
